Hello, so I'm a girl who doesn't know much about diesel trucks. My husband bought me a 2005 f250 6.0 and unfortunately (not my choice) I have used it like a gas car. This is what my husband prefers me to drive in. I have used it to take my young children to and from school daily and other normal city errands. Ive been hearing a faint clanking noise for a little over a month now and just 2 days ago as I was driving it to church all of sudden the clanking got much much louder to where I had to pull over and couldn't drive any more. I had to stop in the middle of the road and turn it off. It literally sounded like pots and pans clanking around under the motor. I'm overwhelmed not knowing what could be the problem and I fear we'll need a new motor altogether. Pls help Thx

 

Sorry to hear your troubles. Letting a noise like that go may have led to unfixable damage. There is little to be done without proper diagnostic equipment and probably a tear down.

 

I tried to tell my husband of the noise when I first heard it, but he kind of brushed it off. i fear the worst. We'll be taking it to the Ford dealership on monday.
