I have a 2013 ecoboost escape that was wrecked on the drivers side and is now showing a FALSE overheating warning and has thrown the codes p1639 p163f and p1299. all oem codes
The code p1299 is my over heating code but Im not sure what the others are. the vehicle has put itself in limp mode and wont go above 2 mph to help save the engine. im wondering if I need to take this back to my ford dealer or if this is something I can fix. id like to do it my self if at all possible. I just need to know where the sensors are and if I can clear those codes.

im also wondering when ford fixed the problems they where having with water in the turbos' to stop limp mode

 

2013 ?!? why would you NOT bring it back to the dealer ?

 

I work for a dealer my self but its just a used car dealership that services all brands. that's why I haven't taken it to ford
