Joel...sounds like the injector is about done. It can't adjust the trim further as it's reached it's limit. I'd get it to the doc or replace it.

Service manual says the possible cause for that code is a bad injector. You might want to make your way to a dealer.

IF you reset the computer via OBD2 and it comes back... I'd take it in. If not, then it could have just been an anomaly that set the hard code off.

However, if it hits again, even 500 - 1000 miles later, I wouldn't continue to reset it and drive it... Just my .02.

Normally I'd agree, but he stated he was down on power slightly. I think the injector is fading away in the sunset over dead injector pasture.

I'd take it in for that injector.

They can check them all at the same time.

Probably is - but stranger things with these trucks and the computer. Like, ohh, the A/C not working and then you do a reset and it works... Wouldn't put it past me that an anomaly happened and the computer is reducing power.

On Edit: Forscan can do an injector buzz test, IIRC... I haven't had to do one, but it has all kinds of diagnostic testing. It cost me $5 for the Bluetooth OBDII reader and Forscan was free.

Found this on motorcraft website, it is for the 6.4 but might be of use:

For DTC P000E or DTCs P02CC through P02DB, INSTALL a new Fuel Injector as necessary. REFER to the Workshop Manual Section 303-04, Fuel Charging and Controls.

Y'all blow me away. All your responses as I drove from st Louis to Columbia, mo!

I've got to get to Topeka today and I've got dealer there ready to show me new '15 trucks and get the diesel tech to see me.

Not only do I need to run the miles I've got a 14k trailer behind me. I'm in Topeka for a couple days so hopeful something can get worked out.

Many thanks for the super info

For those keeping score, considering ESP plans.

This 2012 long block has 111,000 miles on it.

I'm no longer covered by any warranty but it should be noted for everyone, if you're covered up to 200k this injector problem would go a long way in paying for itself.

Where is this 200k warranty you are talking about. I think even mother Ford only has an ESP up to 125k miles.
