Petro based vs synthetic oil in high mileage 6.0l

First of all, new to Diesel engines. Have a 06 f350 with 158000 miles on her. Would it hurt if I put a amsoil, rp, or any brand of synthetic in it at this time without causing something bad?

If it has been given regular oil changes, 158,000mi. is NOT high mileage for a diesel. However, my personal feeling is stay with what has given you good service.

ive never understood the reason to go synthetic on the 6.0 when I change the oil every 5k miles. I use Rotella 15W-40 and call it good. I put Archoil in occasionally if needed. Mine is at 224k miles. To each his own I guess

Can't bash synthetic if you haven't run it in your truck

Actually a lot cheaper to order oil/fuel filters at Advance Auto and use the coupon code, order the trans filter thru eBay.

I use Rotella T6 5W-40 because the truck starts a lot better in the winter with it. I don't drive a lot of miles so I just run it year round.
