OLD Discussion for Steve's Memorial G2G

I spoke with Steve's wife Gail this evening. For those who were wondering about funeral arrangements, the family has decided that the graveside services would be limited to his immediate family only. She would like to thank everyone who has asked and hope we will all understand that Steve had such a large group of friends.

Gail suggested that we have a celebration of Steve's life as a group, perhaps as a picnic or potluck at a local park. Details to be announced.

The parking lot of Dodger Stadium would be appropriate.

GO DOYERS! That always cracked me up.

Thanks for making that hardest phone call, Bill. Something I have wanted to do, but was hesitant.

Does she still have family and friends surrounding her?

If we don't make it sooner, can we make it later? I will be gone from August 18th to the third week in September.

Will you have a hand in planning it?

As you know I will do almost anything for Marge and I to be there.

Let us know............

Know that whatever ya'll do in SoCal, us east coasters who also called him a brother and friend will be there in spirit. Perhaps we'll also try to do the same for him as well, sometime soon.

Actually she called me, Pop. Like you I was also hesitant to call so soon. She has been overwhelmed with calls, and I'm sure trying to keep emotions under control. She called because she wanted me to get the word out to everyone wondering about the private service.

Thanks for updating Bill - I received a call last night from Gail, sadly I missed it. I assume it was about the same thing.

I look forward to us having an event were we can celebrate the memories of Steve.

Celebration of Steve's Life

Steve's wife Gail asked me to post this on FTE to let all of Steve's friends know about planned services:

In keeping with Steve’s wishes, his burial and Celebration of Life Services will be private. If you have a memory or a funny story about Steve you would like to share, we would be honored for you to share it. Please send an e-mail to his sister Christine-Price-Simpson at: Simpson.danchris@live.com

We plan to publish the comments and will send a copy to FTE. Thank you for understanding and being an important part of his life.

We will be having a BBQ the first part of October to celebrate Steve’s life and will post more information as soon as it is available.

If you wish to send a card, please send to:

Gail Held
4350 Snowden Avenue
Lakewood, Ca 90713

If there are any floral tributes people would like to send for the private family service, they can be sent to:

Christine Price-Simpson
8358 California Avenue
Whittier, CA 90605

I am truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support for my brother.

Sincerely
Christine Price-Simpson
In talking with Gail, the first weekend of October is being looked at as the date, possibly Sunday the 5th.

Stewart
