The "tOwBS" - Redefining Tow Pig Standards (56k warning)

I put eBay specials in my show truck - and it really took some playing around to get them to both look right and throw light the right way. Once it gets dark enough out tonight, I'll pull the OBS in front of the garage and see how it looks. The parking lights and stuff are all I looked at last night.
And dummy me, I forgot to change the one corner marker bulb from white to amber...lol. Oh well, it's getting all LED eventually anyhow.

So the show truck has been front and center since this last post....then again, it's winning awards while this one waits its chance to step on the big stage (it's a long-range planning goal...lol).
One of the things (I have no pics of this) I invested in was an Edge CTS, which is a monitoring device that plugs into the OBD-II port (in case you didn't know). Got it from a friend so it's lightly used. I'm telling you - I don't know why I ever thought of going to regular analog gauges.
The information that is available through this device is insane. Trans fluid temp, boost, ICP, voltage, oil temps, EGT, boost, etc...so many numbers it even blows my engineering mind. I need to learn what those values mean, what is good about them and what is bad about them. I still need to buy an EGT probe so I can get some of the values like boost and EGTs, but they are available once I buy the probe.
PLUS - it gives me the means to read trouble codes, a huge plus. I have no device that has allowed me to do that to this point (I have one that works with my gassers, but won't work with the diesel). At least it points me in a direction now for further investigation if there is a problem.
At least off the initial test/trial of it - I HIGHLY recommend getting one to anyone on the fence about it.

Edge CTS and Aeromotive Interceptor are both great options for all-in one monitoring. Most here have opted for the Interceptor (some call it a Scangauge, though technically that is a brand name or a different product) because it fits neatly inside a standard gauge pod and it allows you to do some diagnostic testing (CCT and Buzz Test), but I think they're both great options. Can you perform any data logging with the Interceptor, admittedly I'm not as familiar with it as with the Interceptor.
Being an engineer, you might enjoy reading this technical overview of the PSD and it's HEUI injection system. Understanding the data laid forth in that explanation will get you a lot closer to becoming comfortable with all those parameters you listed above.

So, it's back to the grind, literally. Spent the weekend grinding and painting frame rails. This is just the rust encapsulator coats here. Still have to do finish coats, but I need paint for that. Ordering that tonight. I hope to get more done before Carlisle but we will see. Some finished product shots...
