Why will it start up again after letting it sit for a while? How can a flatspot move to let it start?

 

I was going to do that today, but got busy. I would have tried it when it left me stranded, but I didnt have a hammer with me. Im going to try and give it the hammer test tomorrow.

 

So....I hit it with a hammer while starting (luckily I have a remote start) and it fired up when hitting the starter. Not everytime, but 6/10 times when hitting it.

It looks like a 2 bolt starter. I dont see a 3rd bolt

 

Get a new starter first and that will show you the bolt pattern and how many.

 

Ive heard that even the 3 bolt patern that comes on the new ones, only 2 are used if it has 3. Some have 3 I guess
