Maybe the tag itself was manufactured and printed in Canada and shipped blank to the assembly plants wherever they were.

That's like a lot of things on these trucks that don't make any sense (like the 'infamous' F130), the only people that did know are either long retired or dead.

The 5th digit of the VIN is the assembly plant code.

Truck assembled in Kansas City MO (K) not Oakville Ontario Canada (C).

DSO code 53 = Kansas City MO Ford District Sales office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

Last year for specific to Canada only Warranty Plate: 1965.

What I would guess is that.

A - The KC plant ran out of warrenty tags and they did a stock transfer of warrenty tags from the Oakville Ontario Canada plant to the KC plant to tye them over until their shippment arrived.

OR

B - The Oakville tags were accidently shipped to the KC plant and the guy punching the tags either didnt care, didnt say anything or management didnt care and just let them go through.

Either way, you have a rarety.

Only other thing is there a chance that is a repro tag from Marti? Maybe they used the wrong tag when they did the repro.
