Manual Transmissions ??

Manual Transmissions ??
Just wondering how many out there are unhappy about not being able to get a Manual Transmission anymore in a new truck. I'm not even sure what the last year of a Manual was offered, but was surprised to learn that a short while back.
I've been shifting gears for 44 years straight now and have to have a Clutch in everything I drive, lol.
But as much as I hate to see it, it's OK with me as I can't afford a newer one anyway.
I'm still driving the old ones.

I grew up on a manual-only family. Never even drove an automatic until I met my wife. But now that I've owned several vehicles with good automatics, I don't think I'd go back. It's one less thing to worry about, especially when handing the wife the keys. And it's a lot nicer driving an automatic in city traffic.

I still have a manual in my truck. As somebody who looks at the newer trucks a lot in hopes of buying one once they're 5 or 6 years old, I was pretty miffed when Ford 86'ed the manual...especially after all the flack I gave my Chevy friends because GM had done the same in 06.
But I think i'm over it. Sometimes it's nice to be able to just accelerate smoothly and quickly.

Still love to shift though. I'm nearing retirement age and wouldn't have it any other way.
But I know I'm in the minority though, lol.

well, the OP was asking about manual transmissions in new pickups.. didn't say that it had to be a Ford (yes I have one of them as well, a 92 F150 300" six with manual transmission)

I've even got to buy a new Weed Trimmer every other year or so because the government won't let us adjust the carburators anymore.
...what will be next ?

Buy an adjustable carb and retrofit it? Can't be that hard to do. Or cannibalize one from a chainsaw.
