52 Ford bed extension replacement?

Hi,

I recently had my truck bed sandblasted and found out what truly was underneath the paint. Come to find out, the bed extensions that are on the back of the bed (the little piece with one bolt in it for the fender) were rusted through. I found through LMC a set of the extensions for about $12.00 and I am going to get them.

However, how would one go about replacing them? They don't really appear to be welded, but then again they are attached very sturdy. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jon Preston

They are spot welded on. You will have to drill out the spot welds to remove them, then weld on the new ones.
