hp ratings before/after intercooler "fix" on Ecoboost

I'm curious if anyone has any horsepower rating info for before and after the intercooler fix on Ecoboost engines? The dealer installed the plate blocking a big portion of my intercooler and reprogrammed the pcm per tsb 13-8-1 3 days ago and there is a very noticeable power difference. The truck will still move but nothing like it did before they had it. Are these numbers out there somewhere? I have a 2011 F150 Ecoboost.

I have a 2013 eco. I noticed after an oil change, my EDGE programmer would not display boost. I did then also take the factory tune out- adjust for tire size and put it back. still would not display boost psi.

EDGE said in fact they did change a few things on their last update. I waited two days and was instructed to plug my programmer in to a PC for an update. all was well after that.
however I did notice the truck did not have as much get up and go. from others on the web, it seems they further changed the torque management behavior.

so im thinking yes. after that change which more than likely included a complete update to the various computers in the truck. it could feel different noticeably

I was just wondering what the hp numbers were. It seems like a significant change in my truck. I never hit the floor with the pedal before and now during normal driving, I've had it floored a couple times.

I can tell you there is a behavior change at WOT-pedal on the floor vs, easing into it. getting to 3/4 throttle and keeping it there.

ive done a couple tests where you can get better results by not flooring it. keeping the rpm's down to the point where you are getting the most boost .

also you can try turning on tow/haul mode. this will change the shift points, depending on throttle position. and also change torque converter lockup situations. I know some people hit that button each time they get in their trucks. don't thing that is necessary however.

if your interested in a truly different feel, I would take the truck to a reputable tuner shop with a dyno. have a custom tune written. just remember those I have run across, who have removed the torque management feature/protection. usually end up smoking something. and with that disabled and a crappy tune, torque converter usually goes first, then the transmission. I believe the factory trannys are rated for 500hp or so. but how you treat that HP is what determines how long it will last.

I thought the newest TSB for the intercooler was to upgrade to the newer design of cooler and have NO plate restrictors on it at all. Maybe that was just for the 2013 and above?

Thats strange this should come up. My son and I drove the Ford "test " truck they drove all around the country back in 2010 or so showing off the Ecoboost. We drove the test truck that the Ford rep had used to pull a 20' enclosed trailer from DC down to NC and he claimed 22 mpg. Anyway, our test drives were awesome compared to the 2013 I bought. I swear the test truck had 100 more HP. But thats just my feeling of the pants talking.
