Thanks for the quick response. Also looking for the fuel tank sending units. Any ideas?

In the FAQ that no one reads are links on how to make a tach sensor and your fuel tanks sending unit options.

Reply to Chevy eater

Great lecture you should use it to teach others on how to make friends. But I guess you are your best friend. If you have nothing good to say then just remain silent. Thank you for your understanding.

Lance, Chevy Eater is one of the more helpful people on this forum, so take it easy please. Research a bit before getting your panties bunched.

I steer you towards the information you seek and welcome you to the forum and that's a lecture? Methinks thou art performing an exercise of psychological projection.

Sorry about the short burst, but have been wrenching since I was 12. 20 year in communications/ electronics . The rest rebuilding transmissions. I've got some time in the trenches. The only problem is finding parts or supplies. Being a small town your local Ford dealer just needs you to buy new and is not to helpful. I sometime read things like Chevy eaters finishing statement and read it to mean those with knowledge are always giving it to the lazy one that do not take the time to read. I understand it is about the government , but leads to interpretation. I do not mind giving a lot of my time and knowledge to helping others. If you have tranny questions bring it on.

I see what happened now. That bit about government is in my signature, so it's attached to every post I make. It was not directed at you or anyone in particular.

I don't intend to imply that you are too lazy to read, I was just trying to steer you to the FAQ where there is info on how to make your own tach sensor as the replacement ones are quite pricy and a couple of members here have come up with clever low cost ways to make a replacement.

There is also a lot of info there on the fuel tank sending units, it is easier to direct people to that info rather than to repeat it all here as it's not as simple as "go to XYZ auto parts for new ones". Some are available, some are not. There are some fixes available as well.

I can post some links later if you'd like, but it's back to work right now.
