My condolences Dennis It all goes back to "two steps forward and one step back" You should have seen me cry when I broke the glass sediment bowl on my original fuel pump. Tomorrow will be a new day

I had a glass guy try 3 times and I was the one taking it out each time because he was a bit of a bull in a china shop. After he gave up and left I went out the next morning removed it one more time and then the wife and I installed it and the rubber and stainless trim fit and window doesn't leak. Also had to redo the back window as well. Was there a chip on the edge of your glass..?

 

No, it was my fault. Trying to go too fast. I had a 2x2 and a rubber mallet tapping on the rubber edge of the gasket. I got the 2x2 directly on the glass on that last tap.

 

I’ll get another one. Tom Brossman helped me today.

 

I used dish soap, about a 25 -75 mixture and wet down the rubber really good and around the window frame and roped it from the top. I had my wife pull on the rope as I pushed and seated the glass in place. No rubber mallets just the flat of my hand..

Well, I pulled the truck out of the garage this morning to put the camper back in. Took about 3 1/2 hrs to do the swap. It’s snowing pretty good now. Joe, I have to air the camper down to about 15 lbs to get it in. Dennis

 

 

Dennis, I haven't seen you post here lately and was wondering what you've been up to and what kind of progress you made on the 56. Will it have to sit out all winter?

 

I think I’ll take it over to my brother’s barn. I can work on the seat and repairing the door bottoms over winter. New picture.

 

Wow! We got zero inches of snow. When I moved up here to Lock Haven, my relatives thought I'd be getting alot of snow.... more than Lancaster county. We've had some heavy snow storms but I've found that I am too far east to get the lake effect snow, to far west to get hit by the storms that come up the coast and the nor easters.

I'm glad you have a place for your truck for the winter.

 

I started replacing pictures thanks to photobucket. Got page 1 done.

I also started working on my seat this week. My picture of it is poor because of lighting. I got seat covers from Mac’s and foam from Mid fifty. The seat got nice and tight with no wrinkles, but I’ll need to redo the front as there’s not enough padding on the frame at the front. I’m starting the seat back. Found a tag on the back.










I got the 2” seat foam from Mid fifty. Boy that was a struggle to get the cover on, but it’s nice and tight.

 

Hey, Dennis. Good job on the seat! Your project is really coming along. You could have it on the road by the end of summer and bring both of your trucks to Truckstock. I'm re-doing the wiring you helped me with, but still waiting for the replacement wire harness to come in.

Good job, Dennis! I hope the 2" seat back foam gives you enough room. I bought the 2" foam from MidFifty but my upholsterer said it was too small. I sent it back. He used some foam he had and I don't know how thick it was but it puts me too close to the steering wheel.
