Hey Mike,
Nothing fancy here. We were starting with a pretty total rust out. I was shooting for solid - honestly you really don't look at the floor much since it's covered with bedliner & floor mats. We finished our's a couple of years back - it's nice & solid. We weren't going for a show truck so if it keeps water & dirt out & me in I'm happy.

doesn't look bad at all and it works.
Im planning on replacing mine and doing something similar. Depending on where the trans tail shaft ends will decide if I stay with my bench or not. If I cant keep the bench then I will have to figure something out for a console but that shouldn't change the floor pans too much, just the bracketry for buckets. (I have some nice 1970 Mustang hi-backs that wouldn't look too bad in there)

Hey Mike,
(2) more pics to just give you an idea of how the cab looks with a seat & flooring in place. We went with an automatic so we didn't have to worry about where the shifter came through the floor. I think You'll find that you have to make some sort of pedestal for your seats to get the proper angle for the seats.

I did a little more work for the truck but I couldnt take any pics. My phone screen froze for 3 hours.
I started to clean the IFS and disassemble it to prep it for mock up. I mainly cleaned the garage up and freed some space around the truck to get it ready to be worked on. I got my welder all set up and ready to go.
I am expecting my engine parts to come this tuesday for my Mustang so that will be priority 1 at the end of the week. Once I get the Mustangs engine done I can get the F1s 4.6 on the engine stand and start building it.

Im getting close to a cross road and need some opinions.
My right front frame rail has got a tiny bit of a tweak and so does the bumper. The frame is still square and aligned except for about the last 6 inches on the right.
I was planning on straightening it and the bumper but after reading another thread, I am torn on filling the gravel pan and cutting the frame ends off. What are my pros and cons, what do you all think?

Hey Mike,
Our truck came without the original bumpers just some homemade farmer's effort. We chose to cut our's off as we liked the look. We debated whether to fill the hole or not - just decided to fill them with parking lights.
We've run this way for 2 years - I think I'd prefer bumpers but my son really likes it as is.

Id agree with the 48-50s looking better with the bumpers. I think the 51/52 have a different enough gravel pan that it almost looks like they couldve been designed without a bumper and you wouldnt really be able to tell.

Also, whats the specifics on chrome grills and bumpers?
I have been told that only the Canadian trucks got chrome and I have been told that only 51s or 52s got chrome

Put a bumper on in front and back. It's a lot cheaper to replace a bumper than the body panels in the front or rear.
No chrome grilles or bumpers from factory. Early 51 grilles were painted argent silver. Late 51 and all 52 grilles were painted an off white color. I forget the exact name of the color. Bumpers were painted black.
