Which cam for my rebuild?

For those that don't know my truck from the forum, mine is a 70 F250 2wd with 360 FE, C4 auto, Dana 60 with factory 3.54 gears.
When developing a parts list for my rebuild, everyone said the Crane 901 cam was the standard for these engines as the torque output was outstanding. That's exactly what I'm after. However, the more I read into it, the more I'm wondering if a different cam might be better suited to me because of the other changes being made. For instance my engine is a 360, not a 390. Another brow raiser is that I will significantly raise the compression ratio (10:1 flat tops) by decking the block and/or shaving the head. I will use tube headers. So that being said, is the Crane 901 still the best choice for the ultimate in low and mid range torque and power on my little big block or might an offering from Comp or Lunati better suit me? Chime in! Let's talk.

How tall of tires are you running? Is this a daily driver, work horse or a fun time on the weekends. For me I'd be a dropping the CR.

They're 32" tires. I want a tough truck feel with gobs of low/mid torque. It will see some light towing. I mostly want it to be unusually responsive. Like a Pontiac 389 4bbl but in a 3/4 ton truck.

Unrelated, but unless you've changed things around you have a C6 and not a C4. Now, I'm no cam expert and I certainly am not an expert with the FE, but for torque you'll want a shorter duration cam with a tight lobe center. You'll also want to advance the cam timing a few degrees. This will bring the torque down lower in the RPM band.

Take a Look at the Lunati (made in USA)
62001 & 62002 kits
I have the 62001 tons of TQ 62002 will give you a little more HP and more lope at idle .

It is a C-4 trans according to the VIN. I initially assumed the same thing that it was a C-6.

What about this cam? COMP Cams 33-238-4 - COMP? Has anyone used this one? Adv dur. 262/272 lift .509/.531 center 110. Rpm 1300-5600.
This sounds prefect but not sure if there isn't something better with lightly modified heads, for the small displacement (360) and relatively tall gear ( marked as 3.54).

VIN would only say if you had an auto or manual, not if you had a C4 or C6. You have a C6 unless it's been swapped. Take a peek at your oil pan and compare to the above.

No C4 was ever put behind any big block. Unless an adapter plate or custom aftermarket bellhousing was used, it is impossible to do so as the C4 only came in the small block and small 6 patterns.

Not to mention that your truck is an f-250, so ford would never have used the c4 anyway....
