1960 napco f500

I have a 1960 napco f 500 I just purchased for $800. It does run and is powered by a 292 small block. The cab is rough and plan on putting on another when I run across one. Does anyone know anything about these trucks?

She's a beauty! I think you might be ahead to get with the guys at the Napco Owners Group. Wish there was such a group for Marmon-Herrington owners. Stu

Can't get approved, really? Like it's some nose in the air group of elites or something? Screw 'em. You're sure welcome here, just not a lot of guys with similar rigs.

Edit - I bet you could get any parts you need from Chuck Mantiglia at Chucks Trucks. He has a Coleman F-7 that is even gonna be harder to find pieces for than a Napco. I bet he's got a line on specialty parts houses that would handle bits for your truck too. Stu

It looks like it would go through more shiv than my 60 F250, I would stay drier and warmer though. I do have a set of extra doors! Anyway, I will add my welcome. I love all the old vintage Ford AWD iron, Marmon, Napco, Coleman, they are all diamonds to me! Hey Stu..........what would it take to start a Marmon Herringbone owners group? I move to elect Truckdog as president, can I get a second?

I second the motion. There's a '54 coe MH in the woods by the ferry dock. Pretty rough but complete. Ther rear axle 'went out' about 20 years ago so they parked it. A rear shouldn't be so hard to find. Then I could become a card carrying member.

Thanks guys, I've been told that this truck was used on powerlines to pull the cable. It is equipped with a Ramsey pto winch that is hid under the bed. Here are a few more pictures.

Serious stuff. The wheel pic looks like a period custom made, reverse dish, super single. Stu

AND it has a lock ring to boot! Very cool. Are both front and rear wheels the same? What is the tire size?

That is really cool. It'd make an awesome rig for cutting firewood! Probably wouldn't be too hard to find a new body for it.
Does it have a 5 speed?
