It's a measure of who Steve was to FTE that there are threads about his passing all over the place - most of the posts in them expressing shock and surprise. This is so unexpected it still (to me) feels like something surreal...

I met Steve and Gail AND MAXXIE several times so in a way I consider myself blessed.

Not a guy that I thought was going to be gone any time in the near future.

But it does happen, and what can we do?

I think that probably the best way to honor what he showed us all is to make an album of all the pics we can find certainly - but also to think about what Steve was all about, a GOOD GUY who really lived the things that he was into - including the FTE fellowship and family.

We can't always be everywhere we wish we could be, but that's why we have online.
Steve never missed much, the guy was truly "all over the place" at major and minor events, dropping by when passing through on the road, and of course on the world wide web with his crass and often left field sense of humor.

If I didn't already have my own gig sort of solidified, I'd prolly want to: "Be Like Steve"

YA KNOW???

Although I never met Steve nor do I believe I talked to him more then once about my Harley it is very sad to hear a fellow member (and to what I have read a great fellow member) to pass away.

If we were all a bit more like Steve it would be a better place.
I'm gonna change my sig to "Be like Steve" instead of the RIP.
Be cool if we all did.
Thanks Dutch.

I think I will stick to being like me. That's what made Steve such a great ambassador to life. Those he accepted, he accepted for exactly who they are. He had no other expectation of them.

For Steve

Some tears fall like planetwide rain
The sky is all across an entire world
The atmosphere is shared...
And we all breathe it in together.

The clouds in their masses dripping
The pain in the hearts of so many
The loss of someone everyone knows
THAT is a terrible thing.

How can simple stupid words express THAT?
What in fact do you SAY....
My GOD how could such a goode man leave us
In such an ordinary and unexpected way

But our hearts are heavy now
Our minds troubled - understandably
WHAT GOOD AND RIGHTEOUS Lord
Would take such a man away

Still we know that life is a school
And there really is only one way out
Yet I was not expecting a friend of mine
To graduate so early this way...

I can't believe it - you've got me writing this stuff again.

But that's what I think - and now I need to sign off until I can see again.

I think the photo album is the way to go guys for the family. As we all want to go to a BBQ, and maybe it should happen, the pictures last forever. I'd like to go but in October I'm in Wyoming, this doesn't the make different, The photo album is a life time event for the family. And if they are going to put it on, well, I'm sure most of the country won't be able to attend. For us that would be great. God bless
Steve and your family, thanks for being part of a great group that won't forget you.

THOSE are the pics I was looking for!

I remember Steve saying something about backroads like that are hard to find anymore.
I got the impression he was looking for them for some reason...

Oh no.... Just read this horrible news.

What a loss of a truly good human being. He was a genuinely nice, unassuming guy. I wish the best for Gail and am sure that Steve will Rest In Peace after living a good life.
