Time for the frame paint..
Keeping the budget low on the build and I love this paint for frames and suspension parts, very durable. I reduce it with naptha and add enamel hardener as well. No longer available at tractor supply since they changed suppliers, but when it was discontinued I bought a few gallons for around $20 each.
And so the frame is now painted. Front suspension rebuild and chassis assembly will be next.

Not sure what to say to that, but hey the check is in the mail
After being questioned on the rigidity of the rear hanger extensions I am going to take a step back and box them like I had originally wanted to. I was not totally convinced they would be ok as is and I appreciate the input which made me take another look at them.
So next week I am going to add a ribbon if steel around the bottom, put a gusset inside between the hanger holes, and maybe box the back, maybe not, still need to be able to access the hanger bolts so boxing may not be an option.

The rotisserie, like just about everything I own, I bought used. Like most of us I am not loaded with cash so I have to make every dollar stretch the best I can, especially with stuff that is expensive new. It is amazing what can be found for sale used with a little work or can be fabricated with not much money.
This is not my job, just my hobby (really a disease) that I enjoy so I do the work when I want to. Time in the shop depends on the day, work days I may go out there an hour, but normally I only get in the garage on off days.

2 months into the build!
Reinforced the shackle extensions, ended up doing it a little different than planned. Put 3 backbone pieces of 1/4" plate on each one which tied the flat steel to the lower frame rail, then boxed the frame rail. That way in order for the plate to bend it will have to twist the frame rail as well and I dont see that happening. Or at least I hope not!
Started on the front end rebuild, easiest way to get the control arm bushings is the most fun as well!
Just dont get that burning rubber on your skin, because it does NOT want to come off! Soft scrub is for more than stove tops

I have been slacking
Went to Hershey last week, huge swap meet but unfortunately I saw very little F1 stuff. I bought some new parts from one of the usual catalog vendors but used stuff seemed to be far and few between. I did score a mint 51-52 lower front valence and one center tooth for $40, seller was claiming they were chevy parts, but hey I took them anyway just because I am a nice guy.
Front end rebuild is in progress, mostly done and I rebuilt the calipers yesterday, but now waiting on new rotors which are in transit. I was going to try and save the originals, but after cleaning them up I found rust pits and turning them is about the same money as new.
No pics today, will get some when the front end assembly is complete.
