Let's see pics of those Transits in the wild
Ok, so the vans don't get the attention of the other Ford trucks, but I thought it would be nice to see pics of the new Transit vans as they start to show up in the wild.
I pulled in to make a pickup at a customer's place this morning and they had 10 new Transits sitting in the lot. These guys are a large plumbing/HVAC contractor.

No, there is a low roof that is the height of a conventional or traditional van. You would most likely be able to get it into a garage. I was originally looking for the low roof, but my wife loved being able to stand straight up in there. She also liked the storage shelf above the sun visors.
Washing this thing on the top will be a bear, though.

All but this one are of ours. This is of an XL we looked at before we purchased ours. I just included it to highlight the shelf above the front seats.

Well, it just turned over 5k miles, and the engine is just wonderful. It seems to be getting a little more power as it breaks-in, and fuel economy is 4 to 5mpg better in the city than the old Express, and about 2mpg better on the highway.
The van is quiet and rides and handles much more like a car than the large vehicle it is. My wife and kids love it, especially for the much more comfortable interior, including great seats and also the smoother ride.
The only issue is a tiny bit of wind noise at the top of the wind shield. When I get a chance, I'll be having the dealer take a look at that.
Anything in particular you'd like to know? I couldn't be more pleased with this machine.

I'm pushing 10 miles and all is good. The only squawks are still the wind noise and a small bolt missing on a sensor on top of the engine. It appears to have been an oversight during assembly. No biggie. I'll have it to the dealer today or tomorrow to get it checked out.
The engine continues to amaze me with its power. It just throws this van around and makes it feel much lighter and smaller than it really is, even with a full load. The only downside, which is minor, is that it is noisy when cold.
I couldn't be happier with this machine. My wife is in love with it.
Hey, did you see that this thing beat the new F150 in Motor Trend's Truck of the Year contest? Shocker! Zero to 60 in 7.5 seconds with the 3.5! That is smokin' for a machine of this size and weight!
