What about methanol? Burns super clean.

I recall reading somewhere that Henry Fords first cars were engineered to run on multiple fuels. Rockafeller didn't like this so he pushed prohibition to kill all fuels other than oil based. Leaving his Standard Oil Company in a prime position.

You need even more methanol than ethanol to get the correct A/F ratios. For octane level, availability and cost E85 will be more economical and yield better mpg. That is why you see a lot of weekend racers running E85. Though the octane rating of straight methanol is considerably higher than E85.

I've ran a few of my Race Bikes on e85 with 20% Richer Tuning / Jetting with no ill effect's not to mention Every Turbo Anything I have has Methanol Injection ..............
