New to me 2004 FX4

I currently have a 2002 Ranger Extended Cab and it has worked great for me, just had a new baby and need to look at upgrading. I have found a 2004 FX4 SuperCab with the 5.4 V8 with 48,000 original miles at a local dealership, legitimate Ford Dealer. They are asking $20,000 for it. They purchased it at a Ford auction in California and it was a leased vehicle on a maintenance program. Looks great, no damage or problems. Spotless carfax report. I'm sure they got a pretty good deal on it, KBB has it low fair value at $16,600 and high fair at $19,700 with most people purchasing under the low fair value. Looking to find out what you guys think of these trucks and what you might pay per the information given. Obviously it depends on personal preference and budget but an idea would help. I've got conflicting information on gas mileage, which I really don't care to much about, its a truck not a civic. It's been on the lot for a bit and am looking to make a low but fair offer on it, just curious what you might pay max wise. Thanks ahead of time.

Ask your bank , how much they will / would , loan on it . or ask your insurance agent what they would pay off on it ,...

I can tell you that in my area a truck like that sells for around 25-27k. Especially with that mileage. I just looked at a 2008 F150 Lariat SuperCrew 4x4 with 88k and no warranty. Plus both cab corners rotted out and the dealer is asking 21k. And they have an 06 effectively the same truck with almost 72k and minor damage in the right front and they want 18k for that one.

Thanks guys. Never thought about talking with the insurance company or the bank to see what they would pay it off for, I will have to look into that. This truck looks great, sounds like ya have some rough dealers over there in Pennsylvania.

If you want to do more research on the value of these truck in my area go onto autotrader.com and put in zipcode 15148. You'll find that's about average.
