Here is what I believe counts as a tool tray on a 56, it's just a piece of sheet metal bent to a 90 degree angle spot welded to the floor under the seat. I didn't reuse it when I replaced the floor.

Jim, great story.

I seem to do some bonehead stunt almost daily! Keeps life interesting......

I had to clean most of the powder out of the area B4 I dared take a pic for you, it is not perfect yet, but here is what a tool tray looks like, some had rounded ends on them from what Ive read. They bolt to the bracing on the rear wall, and have rubber feet that rest on the fuel tank.

I have one from a 49 with the 2 rounded ends .

The bottom is rotted out but it is good all around the sides, I'll replace the bottom some day.

Thanks I am going to buy or make one..Easier than putting in a motor and trans which is what I should be trying to do. I would classify your incident as an accident more than anything else..
