I agree, but I think Ford is intentionally going to keep quiet for as long as they can right now. They have a lot riding on this new truck. And with the competitors already having their new trucks on the market it would be far easier for them to make revisions to their trucks to beat the 15 150's if those numbers get out to soon. Remember back to 2010 with the 11 model hd trucks? Ford waited to release the power and capabilities of the super duty especially with the 6.7, until GM released the numbers of their trucks. Then Ford went back and did some programming revisions to beat the GM numbers. Well now they are trying to avoid the same issues today with these trucks. So I wouldn't be surprised if they waited until December at this point to release that info. But that is just my $.02.

 

I agree as I think that is competitively speaking a wise strategy - however I don't think they need to wait till December and I don't think they can. First, the other manufacturers Chevy, GMC, Ram and even Toyota will have there production lines set and manufacturing of their 2015 versions will all be underway by mid-October at the latest. Also, EPA will require Ford to post their mileage ratings as soon as the first window sticker is pasted on the truck which by all accounts I have read will be sometime in November for the early production models. According to the Detroit Free Press the line is going active with two shifts on September 22nd and full production is currently scheduled for late October. I say we'll know the mileage and towing/payload numbers by Halloween.

 

Oh yeah I'm sure we'll know before Halloween. My mention of December wasn't really a serious one. But my point was I think that Ford will wait as long as possible.
