Question 3 on the three to four on the floor conversion questions

So, I am wondering what goes into the conversion from a three on the tree to a four on the floor? should the new 4-speed bolt in with a bit of tinkering or?

just trying to collect my thoughts on what I want to do when the chance finally arises to buy a 58-60.

Depends on the 4 speed that you want to use. Some are not many changes, like the Warner T98A, as it was the original 4 speed used. Also depends if you will also be changing the engine also.

I got a 86 mustang T-5 behind my 223. With an S-10 tail housing. Wasn't too much trouble.

Well, If I go forward with my initial plan, I will stay with the stock 292, and match it with a four speed. I have driven a three speed and I cannot say I liked it. Eventually I might get crazy and stick a six speed and a modern V8 in but that will be quite awhile.

heck, I may put away and get me one of these (depending on the cost 20+ years from now): http://www.cat.com/en_US/products/ne.../18279748.html
