I'm not real good at asking for help...

...but it looks like I'll need some.

Not sure how many of you saw my thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...there-now.html

My '70 Camper Special was taken out of the game last Monday evening. It was a kind of "Involuntary Retirement".

I'm considering having the carcass towed to my house in Lafayette so that I can get useable parts from it.

What I'd like to know is if anyone in the chapter would be willing to come over and help strip the truck.

It's the truck that I brought to Mantown, the last (ok, the only) time I was there.

I'd be happy to spring for BBQ and Beers.

My main concern is that the neighbors would bitch if the truck sits in my driveway for more than a couple of weeks. I've already got an Escort that's been up on jackstands for way too long. I think I could probably get away with stripping the truck if I get it done quickly.

Anyone interested?

If there's enough interest, I'll arrange it.

Sad to hear about your truck. Glad you are ok though. I wish I could help, but don't have the money to make the long trip.

Always wanted to see the west coast, never made it past Arizona though, Im sure with BBQ and beers we can strip that truck and the escort, just because it's an escort. Good luck, Keep it right side up

We tried to get it up to the house tonight, but the flatbed driver balked at towing it because the rear wheels are no longer mounted to the frame.

That's a little strange, since the other flatbed driver got it off the freeway and into his yard like that.

$485 paid to the yard tonight, now we're looking at another night of storage and maybe having them tow it up here tomorrow. Call it another $260.

Stripping it will have to be this weekend, if it happens at all. We've started hearing the neighbors complain already.

I tried to move the Buick wagon out of the way this evening, but it wouldn't start. Typical. It started just fine the last three times we tried it. It must have a phobia about working or something. May have to pull it out of the driveway with the tow rope.

Tell ya what, guys. Even if the truck isn't here, come on by on Sunday afternoon. I'm going to BBQ anyhow. If it's here, we'll do what we can.

If you want the address, send me a private message.

I've been going back and forth with the insurance company, but the truck will not be here on Sunday (might not be here ever again).

There will be BBQ. I'm going to cook pork ribs, shrimp&bacon skewers, sausage, hamburgers and corn on the cob; I'll also hickory-smoke a couple of tri-tips. The beer is already on ice.

Most of the people that will attend don't know about FTE, but that's ok. Any Nor-Cal FTE members that want to attend should attend.

Send me a PM if you want directions.

Manteca --> Lafayette --> Manteca is a bit much, even for BBQ and a great beer.

Try to stay cool!

Cool dude. Are you heading back down for brew? I want to try 8 Bridges brewing here in town on Saturday as there is no possible way I have a saw in my future then. Let me know Kurt
