I had to pull off working on the truck for a couple weeks to try to get some things caught up around the house. But I'm back on it so just thought I'd give everyone a update, I did get my column installed, and got the back glass in today. The windshield was chipped when it came in so hopefully it will go in tomorrow. Also getting a some bead blasting done and hopefully will be ready to paint the bed and tailgate by the weekend.

Nice steering wheel! I've been considering an aid idiot column with the GM fitting so that I can out on a '60s Corvette wheel which is similar to that. I've also been wanting a wooden gauge cluster backing plate. Thanks for confirming my desires! I'd rep you but it won't let me.

I thought those 60's Vette wheels were flat. Will that work?

Appreciate your comments, I thought I was going to have to go a different route for a while, that wheel was on back order for a little over three months, but I think it was worth the wait.
You have a good looking truck and that should add to it.

The Shelby AC Cobra and the early Shelby Mustangs had a similar steering wheel.

Finally got around to painting my bed and got the outside buffed out. I'm hoping to get the inside buffed out tomorrow, and get it setting on the truck this weekend. Sorry the picture isn't the best all I had with me was my cell phone.

Seems like a good paint job to me. Nice work. I don't think I've commented on the six cylinder yet. I want to thank you for not putting in a V8. Keeps things interesting.

It actually had a 390 in it and I decided to go with the 300. My daily has a 300 that I have put 226,000 miles on and still runs like new.

Haha, wow. Even better. My 300 sat for 16 years until I bought it and daily drove it for a couple years. I'm now treating it with a 240 head, 240 rods, 302 pistons, F600 exhaust, Offenhauser intake, Crower cam and roller rockers, DUI distributor, and a forged crank if I can find one. I miss driving it though. It was a nice ride. The spark advance and retard diaphragms were both punctured so I had it at like 20 degrees at idle to keep it running but it was reliable as ever.

Sounds like a pretty good build. You can get some good power out of a inline 6. Back in the day as they say, in the late 60's I built a 54 Chevy Coupe the motor was a 261 truck block with flat top pistons, the cam and head was from a 54 Corvette. The head was shaved, ported and polished.
