Not sure if everyone knows this, but it is proper, and used to be customary, to wish people Merry Christmas, for the full 12 days of Christmas. The custom has fallen to the commercialism, of pre Christmas shopping and advertising, and then move on. BTW, the 12th day of Christmas is Jan 6, which is also the Epiphany. So, a continued Merry Christmas to you all.

Speakers and subs are all Kicker along with a 500 watt Kicker amp.
Last night when I was driving home I thought about these Kicker speakers. Since all radio stations are pre-programmed and play the same music over and over, I rotate from 2 Country stations to one that plays Rock from the 70's. Last night a Pink Floyd tune came on. Pink Floyd is like Alan Parsons Project. They use every bit of your stereo system and speakers. Showing how good the system is or where lacking. The MB Quart speakers I have in my Harley F150 reproduced that Pink Floyd excellent.
So Randle, I have not heard Kickers before. Have no experience with them. But I suggest before you mount those Kickers you might go to a local Stereo Shop that carries Kicker and MB Quart and "soundstage" them both. Running through their same radio (head unit) you can compare apples to apples.

Sure. When the stem less and flat faced radios were introduced back in the 80's (I believe) they were called din style. More recently the Car Manufacturers have been installing din style radios that are twice the height of the original dins. Thus named double din.

Single Din.

I bet that the din is an acronym for something, like most speak today. LOL... LMAO...and PHK.. which is mostly to assist in speed texting I guess. Now, I do feel like a dumb phk, or at least one way behind the curve, not that they grade on that any more...

Thanks though, for trying not to leave this Bozo behind...

Your right DIN is an acronym but I bet not meany can tell you what DIN stands for, and I sure can't pronouns it. I just happen to see this when I was comparing sizes.
Deutsches Institut für Normung.
International standard ISO 7736 defines a standard size for car audio head units. The standard was originally established by the German standards body Deutsches Institut für Normung as DIN 75490, and is therefore commonly referred to as the "DIN car radio size". It was adopted as an international standard in 1984.
Head units are single DIN (180 x 50 mm panel) or double DIN (180 x 100 mm panel) size.

I haven't personally run the front Kickers, but I've heard them in other cars and they sounded pretty good, but I know different head unit and different set ups they could sound all together different.

I got started on the next chapter of this build today. I pulled this axle and the front suspension off of a 65 Mustang V8 parts car I bought. It looks pretty rough, but it feels good, but the pinion seal does leak a little. I started cleaning it up and stripping it down today, and I've got all new bearings and seals to go in it, along with changing it over to disc brakes.

Thanks for the DIN definition, and you are right, leave it to the Germans to standardize the world. They are so efficient, the Romans only beat them with numbers, a we did in WWII. Had they not attacked Russia, we might all be speaking German right now..

I too love that saw horse... way sturdy, and German looking... built to last..

Love those sawhorses

I love those sawhorses! I've got to start frame off work on my 68 long bed and I've been trying to find a good way to support it but keep it mobile. Is the support rod supported by just nuts and washers on the top of the horse?

Hopefully it want be long till you see a picture of it. It's cleaned up and going back together now. I still need to press the new bearings on the axles and put the axle seals in. I'm going to take tomorrow off, and should be putting the seals in and starting the painting on it Monday.

Yes the washer and nut is what supports and adjust it. the main beam is made from two 2"x12" boards spaced 1" apart with 5 quarter deck boards. That left a 1" square hole to drop the rod through, then put a piece of 3/4" plywood on top with 1" holes for the rods. About all the washers do is to keep the nuts from cutting into the wood.
