Explorer rear swap in a 54 F350

Thinking of doing the Explorer swap on my son's 54 F350, but need some advice on front brakes. What can I do for an upgrade on this F350 axle? I can find full conversion kits all day long for a F100, but are they the same axle?

F350 is not exactly the same axle as an F100, but an F250 is. Either way, to match the rear axle lug pattern of the Explorer, I would look for someone who's done an IFS swap, and has the stock F100 axle laying around for sale. Then it's just a matter of bolting in the axle, and adding the brake kit w/5X4.5 lug rotors. I wonder if the pitman arm and draglink will work from the F350 to the F100 spindle arm, though. Something to look into.

Thanks, Havi. I know an F350 isn't an ideal truck to start out with because of what I am wanting to do, but I have to play the hand I was dealt. My step father bought this truck for my 15 yr old son and it is a project for us. The 1 ton running gear and stake bed isn't exactly what he wants, so we are gonna try to get it as close to what he wants. I have friends who own chassis shops, machine shops and body shops so we ought to be able to get it done. Thanks again for the insight!!
