Stalling and hard start 1987 F250 6.9L
I just got my truck back from the mechanic it ran fine for a couple of days but now it will stall on short trips and is hard to get started again. I can get it started but takes a lot of cranking. It will run ok for a little while but stalls again if I let off the fuel. I did hear a sound that sounded like a large amount of air when I was trying to crank it by jumping the relay for the started. Is this normal? Is it the fuel pump or could it be air intrusion? Please help......Thanks. And yes I will be calling the mechanic.

Allway's check the fuel supply hose, right were it goes into the pump, ford put that crazy angle on them and it's in a tough spot, they rot out and split then it sucks air and no amount of priming can fix it. Take a long nozzle blow gun and wrap some wet rags around it and blow into the fuel tank and leaks on the supply side will show up with a puddle of diesel, make sure you sponge that up and put it back into the tank, 4 bucks a gallon, I dont waste a drop.
you need just slight pressure 5-6psi have a friend check around the fuel lines and listen, you'll know when you found it, my 86 had 475,000 and when I sold it to my niehbor that was the original pump, did that hose twice but could not kill that pump.
