Just remember, if someone ever does experience low air flow through the radiator at idle ......... it is easy to install a manual switch for turning up the fan speed.

Or do what I do and turn the A/C to max, which seems to increase the fan speed at idle and cools the truck very fast, not to mention the passenger.

I understand it is an air to oil cooler. The FAN moves air even at idle so if the ambient temps are lets say 100*F it is still much cooler than a heat soaked oil/water heat exchanger exposed to 200*F temps.....I don't understand your statement.
Sounds like you got it all figured out, good luck with it.

Thanks Mark great tip.

I never thought it was possible to interface with the fan assy through a switch. Maybe I don't come around as often as I need to!

Any write ups on it?

Thanks
Joe

Thanks Tim.

You know I was wondering if the evacuation of the system was even necessary. It appears that once all the front is removed there is a lot of room to avoid doing so.

Pics or it didn't happen. Lol, I tried to see how you could have done it and I just evacuated it and paid ford dealer to recharge it. Do you know of the several flavors that they offer now which you have?

I don't have any pic's left as I lost them with my last computer. All I did was unbolt and roll the condensor towards the passenger side with a bungee holding it to the hood.

So I am assuming you have the kit that utilizes the OEM filter and not the remote oil filter?

I've got the remote filter. There wasn't an OEM filter option when I got mine. Hoses are routed a bit different than in the instructions, but it works just fine.

Copy that. I personally like the idea of a spin on filter that isn't dependant on two plastic spring loaded valves within the assembly. I know the assembly is proven to work but just never liked it.

Thanks for the help

Joe
