Sky shackle reversal on older trucks

I know this has been discussed here a bunch, but through my searches, I haven't been able to find a definitive answer on what people have done to make the 92-97 kit fit on the older frames. I want to use the 5" kit on my 85 F259 that already has a SAS. Am I naive to think it's as simple as boxing the inside of the frame horns and trimming the bottom of the body mounts? Pictures are a huge plus here. Many thanks.

I'm pretty sure you have it right. The older frames don't have the boxing at the horns that the sky kit mounts to.
I don't really have any pictures though, I made my own shackle reversal kit to save money.
