2011 f250 6.2 gas on 37s??

Hello i have a 2011 f250 fx4 gas 6.2l with 3.73s. truck runs great with airaid cold air intake but i have stock 265s and i have a lift and id like to run 37x12.5xr17s (stock rim). I've read a lot of threads and i get mixed answers...some say yes you'll loose some power and some say it will run like the speed of smell!..so can someone please answer this question...thanks

You will probably need to budget for a regear for the front and rear axles. This will help move your 37s more effectively.

ok but can i run 37s with 3.73s for a while till I can afford new gears..will it really cause problems with the transmission? i realize 37s need more power to push but whats the difference between pushing 37s and pulling a heavy load?

Just don't expect it to act as it does now, the regear will bring it back, but you won't hurt anything til ya get it done. Pulling will double your load so to speak because you are no longer stock

To get back to stock you would need a 4.45 ratio so the closest is 4.30 or 4.56. I'd go with the 4.56's.

I had one on 37s. You will definitely enjoy the regearing after tires! Unless things have changed though, you're only option is the 4.11s or 4.30s for the 2011 and up Super Duties. Ford changed something in the rear ends for 2011+. I just checked Randy's Ring and Pinion as I was typing this and confirmed. Still only OEM ring and pinion sets available for your truck.

37's

If you are going to lift it and put tires on it, i would wait until you can afford the gears too. At our local 4-wheel Parts store, I had a buddy put his f-150 on 35's with a 6" pro comp lift. They did the gears really cheap because the truck was already taken apart. If you are going to do it, I suggest doing it right. If you wait and do the gears as an after thought you will pay triple the price. I would just ask whomever is lifting your truck to do it to save you the money.

If you are doing it yourself...then I am no help lol.
