is a ford certified 5r100 transmission good?

I am having to replace my 2 valve V10's 5r100 transmission. 2005 E350 extended van, xlt.
Ford offered me a remanufactured transmission for $4200. 3 yr unlimited mileage and then told me those were back ordered and unavailable.
Then they offered me a Ford Certified Transmission with 3yr 100k warranty for $3200.
I assume that someone else rebuilds the certified transmissions for Ford
Anyone got any good or bad to say about your experience with these certified transmissions?
Andrew.

Well either one your warranty expires at 3 yrs and one is 1000 cheaper so it really doesn't matter. A 3yr 100k warranty is pretty good. I don't think a transmission shop would have a warranty that good. Have you tried Jasper Transmissions don't know if they have the 5r100 but you could look there. Jasper may even be the one that Ford carries as their certified one.
