Not supposed to..but

At work we have a snow removal trade show coming up this week. We need to show of what we have to offer. Since the only truck we have set-up is our shop truck which is a '04 ranger we needed something a little bigger. The next best option was our '13 Ecoboost F-150 Sales truck. The truck will never do any plowing as the mount/wiring will just be on for the day, but i have heard of more then a few people running Ecoboost's and 5.0's with plows even though they say not to do it.

I'll get some better pics later in the week.

Here's a link that better describes what Ford did to make the 2015 trucks plow ready: http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...%20from%20Ford

That truck looks good Russ. Load up the salt shaker and see if that changes.

That sander was way oversize for the truck (2 yard), just the weight of the unit itself (650) made her set down pretty good. This truck does not have any HD payload or anything.

Fun fact, we don't use much salt, either sand or gravel.

Why not just add a battery and alternator dedicated to the plow instead of turning off "non essential functions? "

Maybe I'm over simplifying it, but I thought the only real reason the plow prep package was dropped in '11 was the electrical load needed for EPAS.

Any other reason it wouldn't work on an '11-'14 truck that I don't know about?

The two reasons i've heard is EPAS and cooling issues with the EcoBoost. but i have heard of plenty of people running them without issues on 5.0 and 3.5's.

Now Snoway snow plows has been putting them on without issue, BOSS,Western,Fisher,Myer all said no as they did not want to go against what Ford says.

The 6.2 F-150 was rated for a plow from 11-14 though without issue (weights considered) as it has good old hydraulic steering.

That's funny considering Ford is blocking the CAC with a shield for the condensation problem.

got a guy in town that has either the Blizzard POWER PLOW or SPEEDWING which are 3/4+ plow on his ~05 f150. he added front Timbren Suspension Enhancement System and a leveling kit that sits on top of the coil spring and that looks to handle it pretty good.

Check out the final post #146. This may only apply to the 2014 trucks and if so, that's my mistake. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...rcooler+shield

The TSB referenced in that video is for '13 and '14 trucks. Mine is an '11.
