Experience with Diesel Tech of Chattanooga?
After a couple months of throwing parts at my OBS with an inability to use scan tools due to PCM/OBD communication issues, I'm now thinking the best thing to do is send out my IDM and PCM for bench testing. My truck used to die after warming up and now just cranks with no smoke. I replaced my CPS first then did an oil change, new fuel filter, cleaned up ground points, checked fuses/relays, and replaced my IPR valve. I still get a Wait to Start light, but the communication issues point to a dying or faulty PCM and/or IDM.
I hear good things about Diesel Technology of Chattanooga and want to send out both my IDM and PCM to them plus pay the extra $150 for their Performance re-flash for some modest, safe gains. How long does the process typically take? Have any of you gotten their Performance re-flash? And lastly, how is it possible their rebuilt IDMs sell for cheaper at 3rd party resellers ($445 their site versus $375 at Full Force Diesel)?

Good to hear. Thank you! I'll proceed with the PCM and IDM diagnosing with them.

Just wanted to provide an update for future readers of this post. Justin at Diesel Tech of Chattanooga was great! He tested my IDM and PCM the same day they arrived. The IDM passed, but PCM had a (surprise, surprise) bad communications circuit. I had it rebuilt and flashed with a modest performance tune. I got both units back quickly and can now use my OBDLink MX+ with FORScan. I've learned some things using the scan tool and will be creating a new post to help narrow down the issue.
In short, Diesel Tech of Chattanooga is a great company to deal with and I highly recommend them!
