Substitute the word "dog" or "horse" for "cow" and we are very much in the same boat. Stu

or for my wife substitute "dog" or "cow" for "Scrapbooking stuff" or "Hobby Lobby" and we would be there!

If you know your way to 29 (make sure you swing by Chippewa Falls and hit up the Leinie's brewery on the way if you enjoy alcoholic beverages- they've been making Summer Shandy long before it was trendy) take that east to Wausau. Take Hwy 51/I-39 south to Stevens Point (you could also swing by the microbrewery there, if you have the inclination) and head east on 10 and then take 161 to Iola, like truckdog suggests. (Edit: beware the 51/10 interchange- I screwed it up even when I lived in Point, but I don't know if it's changed since I moved away.)

Alternatively, if you're looking for the scenic route, you can take 29 to 49 south and that will also bring you into Iola.

I have to work this weekend (as my On weekends have not-so-conveniently fallen on the Iola weekend for years now) but hope you all have a great time!

I'll be there with my dad tomorrow. He just bought a 52 F1. We like going on Thursday since there is a lot less people. The one drawback is that people aren't willing to deal as much since its the first day...

Well, anyone bring anything good home from Iola? All I got was a Route 66 sign I wanted, an oil can and a "flatheads forever" license plate topper. Nothing really related to my truck. I was only there for a day but didnt see a whole lot of parts for our trucks. Anyone score anything good?

We were there Wednesday night through Saturday noon-ish. Mark and Ryan had some good finds for their 60, 63, and Galaxy 500. I don't recall anything they found for their 52s. I found a couple NOS sets of Timken rear leather seals, $5.00, and all told spent $22 on stuff other that food and water. Seems there were fewer people, and not the big weekend attendance of the locals as in past years. More crap dealers, stuffed animals, broken toys, and Chinese throw away tools. I recall walking away from two rusted out, parted out, absolute p.o.s. F-1s the guys wanted $750 each for. Also walked away from some half ton wheels the guy was real proud of. The visit with Mark and Ryan was good, the show cars impressive, but the swap meet a disappointment. Especially disappointing based on the standards of past years. Just my humble opinion. Stu

I agree with Stu as far as the swap meet goes. Seemed more like a flea market with auto parts. Camping with Stu and drinking his beer because wally world doesnt sell after midnight is always fun. Whats up with that? We had better luck than Stu because we are shopping for more projects. We picked up a hub cap and the rest of the grill pieces to finish our 7 litre grill for the 66 Galaxie. Ryan spotted 1960 f100 magic air controls, cables and heater for a 5 spot. Deal of the day. Picked up some cab step patch panels and lower valance for the fridge. 3 more truck hub caps. Picked up a nos 60 chrome headlight bezel just because you gotta buy that when you find it. Some odd tools from the big tool dealer just inside the gate. Also picked up a 51/52 guage for another $5. Second deal of the day. Stu also hauled a couple engines up from his place for me so we had a load going home. All in all the swap meet could have been better.....but its better than work and we got to shoot the breeze with Truckdog. Also picked up another set of Budd 71410 wheels for the 63 on the way home. If your lurking Brandon, thanks again.
