1990 differential swap
I currently own a 1990 F250 7.3l IDI.
I've seen a post that I can no longer locate about changing out the differential with one fcrom a 1999 model. I want to go to an F350 rear for the heavier loads and the disk brakes.
Anyone done this?
Is it a bolt in or a lot of fab work?
I'm aware of the need to change out the brake proportioning valve.
Will the U-Joints crossover?
Any and all help appreciated.

If you really have your heart set on disc brakes, you can look for an axle from an E250 or E350. The vans never changed to the metric bolt pattern and still use the 8x6.5 bolt pattern. Unfortunately most vans came with a dana 60 or dana 70U. I've never seen one, but supposedly there are some out there with the sterling 10.50 and 8x6.5 bolt pattern. Or you could look into axles from dodge or chevy. The chevy 14 bolt is the most used axle with the offroad guys because it's almost bullet proof. I think the 14 bolt can be found with disc brakes too. Don't know much about dodge axles but I think dodge uses dana 70's and dana 80's
