Doing good Tim. First day back to work for me. I wish the vacation would have been longer. Finished working on the pond this morning. And found out sunday I will have to run new wiring out to my shed.
When we opened up the junction box on the kitchen foundation to tie into it for the new outlet the ground and the black wire for the shed broke and killed all of the power to the shed. We had just enough extra in the shed to cut the bad ends off and get it hooked back up. So we are going to pull the old wiring out and run some new wiring to the shed. The wiring that is buried under ground is about 15 years old at this point. Cheap insurance to keep the freezers happy.
No need to do that Tim. When we ran the wiring to the shed we buried it in pvc conduit. Tie the new stuff onto the old stuff and pull it right through. Might install a new junction box when we do that.
It will Tim. When I am doing a run like that I use outdoor rated stuff. Will last longer that way. When we ran the run for the new outlet for the pond it was also run in pvc conduit to help protect it. SO in case I forget where it is I will hit the conduit and not get a shocking surprise.
Hardest part when we ran the conduit for the shed was digging under the slab. It was a poured a bit thicker then one would need for just a shed. It is about 5 inches of concrete. No where near as bad as the sidewalk we had to replace several years ago. That was about 14 inches thick.
