owner's manual stolen(and other stuff)

accidently left one of the doors unlocked on my truck the other night... big mistake...someone got in, stole the couple of $1 bills I had in my console, stole the rubber divider tray out of the console(pisses me off), and this one baffles me, and really pisses me off.. they stole the Owner's manuals.. are you kidding me? Who steals owner's manuals??? they also ripped off the special tool for the spare tire, and a few other stupid things..I suspect the tweaker that lives across the street from me..
I hope I can order a new set of owner's manuals, the divider tray and that tool from Ford...

Does your truck have the door entry keypad? If so, the thief might also have the keypad code? So, they could come back unknown to you....

Bummer !

but just go online, register with your vin, and download soft copies of the manuals - much easier reading and searching IMHO...

where are you located, I think I have another console tray... just need to find it

yes change they keypad before you do anything else! i get the $1 bills they could go buy some crack or whatever there into but the owners manual? I'm with you, that don't make sense.
a few years ago on with my last truck i was lucky enough to catch a young man in my truck when i came out of walmart getting some late night snacks for my then pregnant wife. i saw him sitting in my passenger seat ( i did leave the doors unlocked because it was a short trip in..what could happen right?) i acted like i was walking to the car a few spaces away then i yelled out to him commenting on the nice truck that he had. he got out and ran i was able to catch him and after a short fight i was able to sit on him and call 911. long story short i didn't press charges because he ended up being only 12 years old and literally scared the pee out of him

The unfortunate thing is that you can't change the factory code for the remote entry. Even if you program a personal code, the one that is on the card in the owners manual cover pocket is the default.

If you had your registration and/or insurance in with your owners manual put out an fraud alert with the big 3 credit reporting agencies. One of my Marines (before we kicked him out) was arrested for ID theft and he was talking about how easy it is if you just get someone's registration/insurance cards. I don't know how true that is but I would hate for someone to find out the wrong way.

thankfully my salesman that sold the truck to me made sure that everything that had the keypad code on it was removed from the owners booklet..I remember him telling me several times to never keep anything with that code on it in the truck..

that is a bit scary about the registration and insurance card...they got those too..(they were in with the owner's manuals)

@jdadamsjr - I live in Phoenix, AZ... let me know if you would like to sell that tray..It did keep the console neater.. I drove all around my neighborhood looking for mine, hoping they just threw it somewhere after taking the stuff out of it.. but no luck..
