Anyone used a timesert kit on the exhaust manifold studs?

I have one on the passenger side, that now has a broken stud, and a broken extractor! Looking at the time sert kit in 8x1.25, anyone used it?

 

If you can get wire feed, mig, welder use it to build up the stud and then weld a nut to the built up stud. Let it cool for a long time. Take a wrench and remove the broken stud. I did this on 7 of mine.

 

I've gotten two out with the weld method. I have one left on each side, one breaks a little more every time I weld a nut to it. The one that is below the surface of the head has yet to be touched with a welder.

I used a right angle drill on the one below the surface, It now has a broken extractor

 

X2 I did the same thing and it worked great
