Sounds like a fun trip.

How much did that "free" truck cost you by the time you got home?

Just curious, but I'm sure the trip was worth every penny.

I spent $485.00 in LA on brakes, bypass hose, coolant, battery and having two frost plugs replaced.

Fuel cost was $680.00 which was lower than I estimated.

The cost of lodging at the Motel 6 Executive Resort and Massage Parlor was $180.00.

My flight was $218.00.

Total was a little over $1600.00...

LMAO good times good times. Welcome to California when the CHP has nothing better to do than look for people not wearing their seatbelts. I'm glad you made it back safe. By the looks of the truck I would say you made out pretty good. It would have been priceless to have seen the look on your face the minute you found out it was crew and not an Ex cab. Get rested up and throw some pictures up in the crew cab thread.

Thanks,

What a great deal. Get what looks like a nice truck and a vacation all in one.

Around me, that truck is worth much more than that.

Who ever gave it to you must be a very nice person.

It's good to hear of good story's like this. To many story's of rip offs over the years.

It was supposed to be a 60K one owner truck. The miles are wrong but I don't care. No way to prove the one owner deal but, again, who cares.

I have several little things to repair… front windows don't work. The power rear window is stuck in the channel. Two gauges don't work. It needs a good bath inside and out.

The paint needs a little work…

But, overall, I am pleased.

It has the sliding back window? Is it a roll-a-long or centurion package?

Power up and down. Has a factory looking dash switch.

Not a Centurion package… we were a Centurion dealer in the 90's. They made some cool stuff. I remember ordering a crew cab F-150 for a customer… it stopped traffic when we had it parked up front for a few days.

Good read, glad it worked out for you. My cousin and I have trekked across Iowa and part of Nebraska a few times this year chasing storms, those two states will turn your mind to mush.
