1956 F100 Tilt Hood install question/problem
I bought the tilt hood install kit from Mid Fifities (MMB kit) and installed it per directions and on line video, problem is, where the hood fits the cowl area there is a 1/2 to 3/4 inch gap, and no more adjustment on the hood, it's adjusted to the point that the front of the hood hits the upper radiator valance, there is no way to close the gap that I can see. Any suggestions. ( I have auto body experience so I've tried most tricks already). The gap seems abnormal to me even for an old truck.
Thx, Don

Since the hood did fit before the kit was installed would lead to believe the hood kit is some how not yet adjusted correctly. I installed this kit on my 56 and actually had the problem of it going too far into the cowl area. I got it fully adjusted out with the two slotted bolts but still was too tight. I ended up slotting the holes on the upper radiator valance under the mount bracket.
With the hood already about to hit the valance seems to greatly limit possibilities.
If for some reason if you do have more room at the valance then you think I would check following;
1. make sure the roller guide is not mounted to far forward.
2. loosen the two top bolts which are slotted , ease the hood down and see if the hood will move back any further.
3. loosen mount on valance and check to see if it can move back just a little.
