56 F100 original standard column to auto? (c4)
#16
I have a 56 with the original Ford-O-Matic column. It is now mated to an FMX transmission. The stock shift indicator and needle were long gone, so I was able to buy replacements from Mid-50 and Greene sales. But after installing them I find that it does not really match up with the detents in the transmission. It is generally off by one click. For instance, when the transmission is actually in Drive, the indicator needle is showing "N". In case 5point runs into the same thing with his C-4,is there a way a guy can correct for that?
Just saw this on FleaBay. It's a 57 so I don't know if it will work or not.

I used the 57 column like in the ebay ad on my 52 with toyota box and c4 trans. In order to get the shift indicator to match the trans detents I modified the shift lever on the trans and made it longer as the swing of the column lever is longer than the stock trans.
