I figured with all the tailgate swapping going on this would be an easy one for the forum. I changed over to a tailgate step but the new one is a black emblem with red inset, the emblem from my FX4 is chrome with a black inset. How do I swap over the old chrome emblem over? It doesn't appear to be held with tape. Thanks in advance!

 

They are held in place by double-sided tape.

There are also 2(two) alignment slots with metal clip/inserts.

To reapply, you'll need some 3M™ Automotive Acrylic Plus Attachment Tape or silicone sealant.

Thanks for your reply. I guess without seeing those metal inserts I'm not sure how they work and how to pry the old emblem off. Any tips for me to remove it?

 

Heat the emblem with a hair dryer and use nylon pry bars (available at Harbor Freight) to remove it ...------------------------------
