MAF questions

I've been reading and reading on MAF swaps for my 97 460. To make sure I have this right, I can use the MAF and ecm out of an early 90's 5.0 mustang cobra that used 24lb injectors. Hook that ecm to my harness after repinning for the injectors and adding in the MAF wire harness. And I should be good to go? I'll probably build my intake tube or buy the k&n kit unless I can find one easy. Are there only certain years of stangs I can use the parts from? Sorry I know this has been gone over countless times just want to make sure I got it right.

Yes I think you're ok ---the 80mm MAF is actually cal'd to the ECM (not the injectors) so it's good you're bringing it to the party too............

You have to also add wires for sequential injection(9 wires), SD is batch fired and only has 3 wires.

Is there somewhere to get pins to add to the ecm plug or do I have to buy a harness?

Subscribed. Interested to see if the swap to maf is worth the hassle. As far as the tranny controller where would you find one.

It would work as long as you mod your harness and re pin your connector. I haven't looked for awhile but there used to be pinouts on oldfuelinjection.com, but i'm not sure if the site is still up. There are many good sources such as moates.net, and eectuning.org where guys can point you in the right direction.

I'm in the middle of my swap right now with my 460/E4OD, with 3.55's. I have been watching it sit due to my just getting married yesterday, and having no time to work on it!

I went with a kit from Fiveology racing which included an EEC-IV out of a 95 F-150(or bronco) with a MAF 5.0, and an 80mm meter with a harness that is already pinned for the connector. I'm also going to run a Moates quarterhorse, and BE/EA combo for tuning. With the f-series E4OD PCM, I don't have to worry about running a transmission controller. I got my intake from a JY MAF 5.0. I took only the top half of the air box, assuming it would fit on my bottom half but was mistaken, so I have yet to return to the JY to get the other bottom half.

I plan on getting back to it soon, now that I'll have a little more time(bathroom remodel had to be first I guess.) My thread is a ways down in the BBF forum, but hopefully I'll be bringing it back to the top soon.
