So I have a issue, I went out to my truck last night after leaving Bass Pro Shops and the truck turned over for a split second and than I herd the Starter just spinning. I go under the Excursion with a hammer to tap the solenoid and low and behold what I see is absolutely amazing. The bottom bolt was gone the middle bolt was sheared and the top bolt is in place but the starts is hanging of the bell housing. I am trying to come up with the best solution to remove the top bolt, but there isn't any access to it because the solenoid is covering. I am thinking of taking a c clamp and sucking the starter down, but I am afraid of shearing the bolt. The starter is already cracked on the side where the bolt is still in place. Any suggestions or ideas for me? I need to tackle the job in the morning because I am going headed out to lake mead on Tuesday with my wife and three kids. Also is there a trick to installing the new top bolt? I herd it wasn't easy....

 

Ratching moon wrench with adaptor for 3/8 drive socket and correct size socket. Or just the moon wrench if it will fit
