2.0l Ecoboost Swap?

2.0l Ecoboost Swap?
It looks like Ford Racing has released a controls pack for the 2.0l Ecoboost. Anyone want 252hp and 270 lb-ft out of a 300 lb engine?
Crate Engine: https://www.fordracingparts.com/m/Part.asp?p=22999
Controls Pack: https://www.fordracingparts.com/m/Part.asp?p=22998
I'm not sure what transmissions will bolt up, but a ZF5 or a Tremec 6060 would be awesome!

I've seen some posts on Locost forums about this engine.
Apparently with the Ford Racing tune that comes in the control pack, power is increased to 360 lb-ft and 295 hp on 91 octane fuel. Think that would be enough to drive my RWD '95 F150?

It would be a quick and fuel efficient truck if you did. Also, since the 2.0l Ecoboost is based on the 2.0l Duratec block, the transmission should bolt up (I'm not 100% positive on that, but I can't find anything to debunk it yet). I'm also not sure if the motor mounts are the same, but it would be pretty slick if it was. One other thing I want to confirm is if a 2.0l Ecoboost from a Focus/Fusion/Taurus/Escape/Edge/Explorer will work with the controls pack. If so, there will be a bunch of engines already available in junkyards.

I still want to swap this engine into my F150, so here's a little more information I've found out. Apparently the crate engine is the same engine found in the 13-14 Focus STs. The head and turbo manifold are slightly different for other versions of the 2.0l Ecoboost, so I doubt the controls pack will work properly with any other version. Transmission options I've found are the M5OD-R1, a T5 with an adapter plater or a 6 speed from an NC Miata. Based on reviews, vehicles with a curb weight of 4000 lbs should get around 23 MPG combined and should be able to go 0-60 in the mid to low 6 second range. In my opinion, that sounds perfect for a daily driven truck.

Sorry to ressurect this old thread as my first post, but this thread is why I came here.
I've been trying to decide if I want to buy a new 2015 F-150 ecoboost 2.7, or if I'd rather build a 73 - 74 (my favorite 2 years) F-100 with a crown vic front end and a 2.3 ecoboost from the new mustang. I've always liked the sound of 4 cylinder engines more than v6s.

Bronco II Engine swap
I have an 89 Bronco II with a 2.9L V-6 and am looking at my options as far as engine swaps. I have considered swapping out with a 300 straight 6, or even a 289... however I am now considering one of the 2.0 EcoBoost as an option. Has anyone swapped one of these EcoBoost into a late 80's Ranger or Bronco II successfully yet? Is there any more info available? Is it even a viable possibility?

To answer your questions, I haven't heard of any Ranger/Bronco II swaps yet. Obviously that doesn't mean someone hasn't done it yet. As for it being a viable swap, anything is with the right amount of time and money. It will probably cost more than a 300 or 289 swap, but it should be lighter, use less gas (if you stay out of the boost) and be a more modern platform for upgrades in the future. Take a look at those links and if there's more info, I'll try to help you out. Since money is kinda tight at the moment, I'm hoping Ford will release a 2.3L crate engine as well. Considering sales are good for the 2015+ Mustang and the Focus RS is just being released they might be holding off to ensure production lines are stocked first.

Aloha all,
Sorry to bring up a dead pony (Mustang ref) I have searched and searched and searched. So from what I can find anyone who has put a 2.0 or 2.3 ecoboost (same block) into a second generation ranger? (1993-1997)
I find myself in a position to purchase a 2.0 crate engine with control pack and T5. the price is reasonable, but the unknowns may require deep pockets. I drive about 100 miles back and forth to work 5-6 days a week. So if it can and maybe has been done 30MPG sounds great; unfortunately I dont have the unlimited pocket to put concepts together.
Someone must have attempted or done the research, please share. time is limited on the purchase of a 2.0 ecoboost crate engine including control pack and T5. Thanks for any inputs.

There's only two swaps I've read about so far. One was into a 1986 Fox-body Mustang. If you search for it on Youtube there's a couple of videos. Also here's a link to a forum that talks about it: 1986 SVO with 2.0L Ecoboost swap - Mustang Evolution

2.0 L EcoBoost Focus ST into a truck
Just getting started on a 2.0 Eco Crate engine into a 1966 F100. Hoping to keep weight under 3600 lbs.
Have secured the new engine along with Ford Racing PCM/Kit found new all for only 2200 so hoping to keep the cost down.
Not my project but I donated the truck to my helper. Hoping to have it on the road by the time he gets his DL 6 mo from now
