Out of town for work has kept mee off the project, I have been able to shop online and get things ready for the next step though, which will be fabricating motor mounts, changing oil pan, finding a set of headers.

Got back early Friday and decided to try my hand at cutting and grinding metal to build some motor mounts, thank God for great neighbors, I had everything cut drilled and ground and he tacked up the pieces and then completed the welding.....

Some channel and plate and a lot of patience

Grind the corners, clean off the rust and a coat of paint should do the trick

Hopefully the oil pan I got from eBay will arrive soon, clean that up get it in place and it's time for the headers and exhaust.

Just put my fuel tank under the bed and looking to fill the hole in the cab left by old fill tube, LMC has one for earlier trucks but nothing for 66, are you planning to fabricate one?

Yes, I will have one fabricated, I'm not much of a body guy and fortunately my truck doesn't need too much. I don't think that was much help but I did want to answer your question.

Motor mounts done!!!!

Well the paints dry and they are attached, everything fit so far, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the next few steps line up as well.

Driver side, I may be lucky enough to use an oil filter without relocating it like before

Passenger side

Headers in

I ordered Hedman Headers and needed to check clearance with all the changes, quite a bit different than the stock exhaust manifolds. Somebody is watching over this project because the headers clear and it looks like the steering shaft won't be obstructed.

Easily fit and the steering shaft should clear

Tight but it fits.

Rear view.

I couldn't imagine putting these on with the cab and fenders in place....

here is a tip from experience , either fab a heat shield out of stainless or wrap the starter in a heat proof blanket like they use for turbos to protect it from the header heat . it will last a lot longer because it sure looks too close for comfort .

I do like the engine mounts, and the headers look great. The coating on the headers will keep them cool; but I would still go with the shield to be safe.

Power steering pump

I'm in need of some advice on what pump I should use to drive the rack and pinion, any and all input from the pros would be greatly appreciated....
My motor is a FE 390

Work on the cab has started, I gutted it except the glass and it will come out today, there is a little rust in the floor, one cab corner and the front mounts have to be repaired.
