High altitude jetting
I live at 7200 ft and the truck I recently bought with a 460 was built in SoCal. It was obviously running too rich. I tore the Edelbrock 1407 750 cfm carb down this weekend and found the primary jets were .107 and the secondary were .110. I replaced the primary with a .104 and used .043x.071 rods.
I haven't had a chnace to start the engine yet and I am wondering if anyone else has set up one for high altitude use or has a manual with suggested sizes.
I put in a full rebuild kit and found the float settings to be off. the float level was too low and the float drop was also too low. Anybody ever make float level adjustments to help their performance?
