Good afternoon,
Looking for opinions. Have an 06 F250 regular cab. Someone T-Boned it. Have used fender and door to fix, plus bought rocker panel. Frame is not even close to being touched. I'm guessing around a grand worth of body work to straighten the cab, install rocker panel, and align door.
Would it be cheaper or perhaps easier to buy a used cab? Also, I know there are differences, but has anyone thought about putting an ext cab cab on a regular cab frame, then perhaps shortening the bed?
Ready to drive and tired of looking at a broke down truck
The biggest PITB with a cab replacement is the wiring and AC/Heater system and controls swap. I helped a guy with a 2002 Chevy truck and it was a nightmare. His cowl had taken a large hit right behind the Left Front wheel..
From Reg Cab to Ext cab should be hard electrically because all you have to do is add speakers in the rear half door which I'm assuming the Reg cab has more than 2 speakers in the front doors so just extending some wires like the third brake light, dome light, and speakers etc.
